jforsythe Posted November 16, 2005 Report Posted November 16, 2005 Hello, everyone. This is my first post. I am not a guitar builder, but I am looking to have a guitar built for me, specifically a Les Paul speced body with a 7-string neck. I have contacted a few builders so far (ESP, Abyss, and Heatley) and so far have been only satisfied with the price range for Heatley. I was wondering if any of you had any suggestions for any other luthiers and any recommendations you can make for the guitar I am interested in. The specs I am looking for are as follows: Body -Mahogany back (not chambered) -Carved maple flame top -Body thickness similar to Les Paul Standard (a little less than 2 inches) Neck -Mahogany neck -Rosewood fingerboard -25 or 25.5 inch scale neck (Still haven't decided on this. I like the feel of 25 better, but everyone is telling me that 25.5 is the recommdende minimum for a 7-string.) -22 fret neck /w SBB216-195 fret-wire -MOP block inlay on 12th fret only -Similar neck profile thickness to a LP 60's slim taper neck (I have the specs if needed) -12" fretboard radius -48mm nut width -Bone nut Other -White binding on body (top only) and fretboard. No headstock binding -Chrome Sperzel locking tuners -Chrome Stop Tailpiece and Tune-o-matic bridge -Chrome Strap buttons -Black 3-way toggle switch on upper bout, like a Les Paul -2 volume/2 tone knobs. Black speed knobs configured and placed like a Les Paul -EMG 81-7 Bridge p/up -EMG 707 Neck p/up -Black Pickup Bezels Thanks for any help. Quote
