Masking things off also prevents buildup of the finish, which affects how the neck sits in the pocket. Quote
Maiden69 Posted November 17, 2005 Report Posted November 17, 2005 If you are using spray can paint it is not that important because it will take an enourmous amount of paint to build ut that much... If you are using 2 part poly, then it is a must, but you can alway sand the paint off the heel of the neck pretty easy to make it fit nice. Also too tight of a neck joint and you are asking for a bit of trouble along the way (finish wise) Quote
Darkmarko Posted November 17, 2005 Author Report Posted November 17, 2005 Ok then i shall leave the neck all painted and lacquered and the neck pocket raw.....i think that shouldnt be a problem because i am using spray can paint lacquer and stain......thanks..... Quote
TeiscosRock Posted November 17, 2005 Report Posted November 17, 2005 I would leave the lacquer on the neck, but keep it out of the neck pocket. Looks like thats how Fender does it. Quote
