ghoti Posted November 21, 2005 Report Posted November 21, 2005 I am new here, and apologize for just jumping in. I picked up a guitar in Japan, where I live, dirt cheap because of a headstock crack. Guitar repairs here run several times more than the same stateside, so I am going to jump in and do it myself. "How hard can it be?", he mutters. What I have found on the neck refers to larger cracks, or suggests completing the crack by breaking the neck. Seems a bit extreme for what looks rather minor yet. I would remove the string and properly clamp the guitar after glueing. For the glue, I will have to ask around a bit here. Possibly a hot glue. One worry is how to get enough glue into a crack that size. Will I be able to? Any advice is appreciated. I will post an image when I figure out how. Quote
