TenderSurrender Posted December 4, 2005 Report Posted December 4, 2005 (edited) Posting in 2 different forums isnt the best way to go about things is it? The elecforum has just as many members as this, some may visit different areas more then others but surly, those who visit the electrnonics section are more likely going to be able to help you? Youve chucked it in the electronics section, all ya gotta do is wait to see if anyone can help, in the meantime do some searching around google to see what you can find... ~~ TS ~~ Edited December 4, 2005 by TenderSurrender Quote

thegarehanman Posted December 4, 2005 Report Posted December 4, 2005 You can wire the tone pot like you'd wire any other tone pot. Look at a few different circuits that have a tone control, you'll see. As for the volume. That lug for volume goes to one side of the volume pot, a ground signal goes to the other side, and your output is the middle lug. Quote
possum1284 Posted December 4, 2005 Author Report Posted December 4, 2005 yeah i know all that. this is what u were refferring to i assumevt di. question where doest the wire coming out of position 1 on the tone pot labelled "to positive" go?Also what do i do with the tone lead coming out of the switch(original prs diagram)? thanks, Adam Quote
thegarehanman Posted December 4, 2005 Report Posted December 4, 2005 Let's do some deductive reasoning here. Besides ground signals, we have one wire coming off of the tone pot. Also, we have one wire labled "tone" on the switch...what does this lead you to believe? You would greatly benefit from reading up on simple analog electronics before delving into guitar electronics. None the less...there's your answer. peace, russ Quote
possum1284 Posted December 4, 2005 Author Report Posted December 4, 2005 heres a diagram of how i think its done. please lety me know if anything is incorrect. thanks, Adam diagram Quote
thegarehanman Posted December 4, 2005 Report Posted December 4, 2005 I don't know what "out" refers to on the original switch schem you posted, but assuming it just refers to the ground: Remove the wire connecting lug 3 on the volume pot to lug 3 on the tone pot, and you should be good. Quote
possum1284 Posted December 4, 2005 Author Report Posted December 4, 2005 well here is what i believe is a correct version of a prs 24/22 and ce wiring with the 5 position rotary switch, including the volume and tone pots. thanks for the help everyonme. i hope that the diagram can help someone else in the future, Adam prs 24 w/ v and t pots final Quote
thegarehanman Posted December 4, 2005 Report Posted December 4, 2005 Do you know the significance of the two unused terminals on the PRS 5-way switch? Quote
possum1284 Posted December 4, 2005 Author Report Posted December 4, 2005 Do you know the significance of the two unused terminals on the PRS 5-way switch? ← no idea what those two terminals are used for im following their (prs) digram from their site. Where u asking if i knew or do you know what they are for. is my revised diagram now correct? thanks, Adam Quote
thegarehanman Posted December 4, 2005 Report Posted December 4, 2005 Your diagram appears to be perfect. Now you have to figure out the values pots/cap you want to use. I didn't know what the lugs where for, I imagine they do nothing on your switch, but serve a purpose on a switch for a different PRS guitar. Maybe they just serve no purpose in the circuit you're building. Quote
