haggardguy
I know lots of wiring questions pop up and im sorry i've had to ask another one but I bought a switch today and I can't find any diagrams that use the same switch so I'm hoping someone can help things make sense to me. I am wiring 3 humbuckers together and I just want it to be simple, i can always modify it later but i want the positions to be 1=neck.5=bridge 5-bridge 4-mid+bridge 3-mid 2-mid and neck 1-neck with one volume and one tone and a kill switch, and my switch looks like this http://ca.pg.photos.yahoo.com/ph/sameoldso...re2.jpg&.src=ph Thanks alot in advance Spencer
haggardguy
I don't really need a full diagram but can someone just help me figure out how to make my switch work with other diagrams or soemthing? please and thanks
lovekraft
Sorry, haggard, but I don't recognize that particular switch - can you remember where you got it or who makes it? Barring that, the only thing that I know you can do is use a multimeter to figure it out, using the continuity tester to see what connects in each position. Not much help, I know, but that's all I got.

LK if you can give me a brief... or link me to an explanation of how to use the multimeter to figure it out that would be great, thanks. mikhailgtrski
This should work (humbuckers or single coils, doesn't matter)... except you'll have to insert the kill switch, and you'll probably want 500k pots: three p/u schematic Hope that helps. lovekraft
To test a switch with a multimeter, simply set it for the lowest resistance setting, and check for continuity between the various solder lugs in each switch position. Most DMMs will have an audible continuity signal, so just check for the beeps. HTH
