Headless Tuning

i want my next bass to he a headless, but i cant seem to find but two manufactuers that carry the stuff to do it. anybody know where i can get at least the bridge/tuners i can fabricate the rest. or does any one know a cheap model or ripoff of a steinberger i can steal parts from?

They're very sought after things. You could buy a licensed bridge from a Steinberger copy off ebay, and buy it as a donor. Ed Roman has loads of parts, but as we all know he's expensive and even then he doesn't sell them to everyone, Steinberger parts in particular.

Just take the bridge and the mount off the top of the neck and you're sorted. You can get measurements for the bridge and such off the body too.

couldnt you do what the old bichs did and rout a channel at the butt of the guitar and stick some normal tuners there?

Good headless stuff ain't cheap, but it's worth it. I've got an ABM set for electric gutiar (ordered direct from ABM), and ETS makes some killer high-end bass hardware.

ok i found some from status that looks promising, also a company called bunker bass has some nice ones as well any of you guys familiar with either product?
