Daniel Sorbera Posted January 18, 2006 Author Report Share Posted January 18, 2006 (edited) I propose every month hold a contest where the only rule is it must have strings and thats all It would be like two classes of GOTM. The elite GOTM (what it is now) and the "other" one where you just need strings. It would make the guitar GOTM much cooler and give an outlet for those of us who just like to goof around on cheap wood. BTW I'm not quite done with mine yet. All I have to do is rout the neck pocket and set it up. My grandpaws funeral was today and tomorrow morning So I'm not sure if I'll have time to finish it for the contest... It's so sloppy. It makes me laugh when I hear it back. The old time sound though is undenyable. Recording technique was done "the old way" with a SM57 pointed at the sound hole. It was on a boom stand and about 1 foot away. I think one track was pointed right at the sound hole at 90 degrees, and the other track was with the mic at the butt end of the guitar, still pointing to the sound hole. Nothing too scientific, but I just turned a different way on the stool for that 2nd track. Glad y'all like it. Quote Link to comment

drinkchoglit Posted January 18, 2006 Report Share Posted January 18, 2006 mine wont be finished in time at all, it seems i over esemated the stregth of the amo can i have. it flexes too damn easy, and i've almost fattened it acouple times trying to drill holes in it. but im gunna find somthing to make one out of, since i already have th neck half way made, it just won't be ready for this contest Quote Link to comment
