Output Jack-resistor?

Not enough information - a resistor on the input of a tube amp may be biasing the input grid, while in a stompbox, it may just be pulldown. You'll have to be more specific - FWIW, I can't think of any good reason to use a resistor either in series or in parallel with a guitar's output jack.
