gun Posted March 12, 2006 Report Posted March 12, 2006 Hi folks, I read on the Anderson's forum he use no heat to fold the top!!! I read the tutorial so I always thought he did that way. I saw pix where the tops are "scaped" in the folded area. Can anyone explain me how he does? Gian Quote
verhoevenc Posted March 12, 2006 Report Posted March 12, 2006 Ummmm.... i can't say for SURE... but maybe he just adds water to the top area of the top in the place he wants to to bend while applying weights to the area? that way the fibers on the top expand and get puller down... and do this over time? javacody Posted March 13, 2006 Report Posted March 13, 2006 He does relief cuts on the back side first, and then probably wets the area. I'm certain I've seen photos of relief cuts on his site. Quote
gun Posted March 13, 2006 Author Report Posted March 13, 2006 Yeah you're right about the relief cuts. He says that doesn't apply heat to avoid moisture in the wood. But at this point I believe it could damp the area and press the top in a vacuum press. Maybe he does this way. Gian Quote
