Hughes Posted March 31, 2006 Report Posted March 31, 2006 Hey, i had to correct a mistake i made in my trem cavity and i went a little to deep allowing less then an inch for my pickup routs (not routed yet). instead of making a terrible mess with miss matched wood + filler, i came up with an idea of putting nice figured maple inside which is about 1/4" thick. with this, it allows you to have more room for pickup depth and allows you to have a visually appealling trem rout for those who arent fond of covering it up. is this a good idea or will it just make a mess? yes, i know, im a knob for routing to deep Quote
psw Posted March 31, 2006 Report Posted March 31, 2006 Call it an "internal tone plate", make it a feature and your mistake gone wrong, will be a brilliant innovation. Soon you will have a tutorial outlining exactly how to install and retrofit this feature... Quote
Hughes Posted April 1, 2006 Author Report Posted April 1, 2006 haha i put it in and am filling the small gaps that were left, it actually looks quite nice and when i stain it red along with the top of the guitar, i think it will look like a nice mistake Quote
