Santah
I was sanding until about 2am last night and I couldn't see what I was doing to the wood. Can I fix this by sanding lightly with some extra fine paper? Originally intended to go for a natural finish but I guess I can cover my mistake by using paint instead. Maiden69
sand some more. Start with a coarse grit like 180 until all those scratches go out, then go up to finer sand paper all the way to >>>whatever you have, if you like natural finish some people go all the way to 2000. I normaly go to 600-800 then clear.

Santah
4 hours of sanding with 180 and its starting to look better... man this is going to take a long time ...and yeah i normally sand with the grain but this area had some paint on it that was very hard to get off so i was going all over the place.
