I'm not going to be holding it right up to the wood of course, but in any case, would it be safe? provided I wasn't stupid about it? Quote

I'm not going to be holding it right up to the wood of course, but in any case, would it be safe? provided I wasn't stupid about it? i use a torch frequently on my sculptures to shade certain areas and with a little practice you can achieve a pretty consistent effect. as with anything new practice on some scrap wood to see how close to get, how quickly to move it, how high to set the flame, etc. and keep a bucket of water handy just in case.
