The Fatalities Posted May 8, 2006 Report Posted May 8, 2006 i installed my floyd rose trem and the back of it seems to be under alot on tension and is sitting quite firmly on the padding. are they supposed to float? how do i fix the problem?? also am i supposed to string the floyd rose with string savers in?? off topic: i just routed my neck pocket and i wondered if the neck height in the pocket is supposed to be the fretboard sticking out like a strat. Robert_the_damned Posted May 8, 2006 Report Posted May 8, 2006 well if its down like that I'd have thought the rear spring tension is to much compared to the string tension so you need to adjust your spring claw...just like on any guitar with a rear rout with springs in. also am i supposed to string the floyd rose with string savers in?? you mean the kind with the speed loader tubes? I'd guess exactly the same as a normal one except without cutting the ends off. Quote
azz-230 Posted May 8, 2006 Report Posted May 8, 2006 How many springs u got holding that trem back there Quote
ihocky2 Posted May 8, 2006 Report Posted May 8, 2006 As for the fretboard, you can have it sticking out as much or as little as you want. It's your design and you just have to adjust for neck angle and bridge height to accomodate for it. How many strings do you on and what gauge? How many springs do you have on the back and how deep do you have the claw screwed in? Quote
The Fatalities Posted May 9, 2006 Author Report Posted May 9, 2006 yes i seem to have fixed it. i just had the rear springs in and needed the normal strings in to counter balance it. its fine with only 2 springs in since it is a v guitar. but i still dont get how to put strings in with string saver block thingys that go into the thing behind the saddle. where does the ball end on the string go? bridge or tuner? i put the ball end on the bridge in the space and locked it in. am i supposed to have the string threaded through the bridge?? so far string savers do not fit!!
