TeiscosRock
Though it may have actually had a different name on it, it's a Teisco Spectrum of some sort. Edited May 17, 2006 by TeiscosRock
Southpa
Looks like a 4 pickup variation of the Sekova Bison. I was thinking Burns Bison, Teisco del Rey, Kawai, ie. along those lines but the Sekova body shape pictured here looks bang on, not to mention the vegetation inscribed on the pickguards of both guitars. Got a picture of the headstock? That would clinch it. Edited May 17, 2006 by Southpa
TeiscosRock
Yeah, I didn't notice the horn shape before, it's definitely not a standard Teisco or Kawai shape. Probably a better bet to go with what Southpa said.
cass
Here goes a picture of the headstock.... Thanks for all your feedback... yeah southpa, that is really, really close if not right on the head. Does seeing the headstock change you mind? marksound
That looks similar to a Montclair Burns copy my buddy has. Check out this page.
Southpa
It IS a Sekova Bison. Can't refute that body shape and pickguard. It just goes to show you that the headstock alone on some of these guitars doesn't mean a whole lot. Almost everybody has copied the strat shape at one time or another. The picture I used is from the same site marksound posted. I get a monthly newsletter from myrareguitars and they have a lot of interesting info on these "oddities". If you were to contact the site owner directly I'm sure he can give you more info on your Sekova. Edited May 18, 2006 by Southpa

marksound
Hoshino sold several similar guitars under different brand names back then Hard to say what's what, but I bet it's a Hoshino-something, made by Fuji Gen Gakki.
