Composite And Non-tradditional Soundboards

Recommended Posts

Get the hang of the pronounceation and you'll sound clever too :D

Got the reso building dude round to my house for a progress meeting in a little over an hour, so I'll ask him about the tricones. I'll try to get the digital camera up and running again so I can get some decent photos.

You want laser Interferometry, here you go:

http://www.astro.cf.ac.uk/groups/acoucomp/MAGHolography.html

Interested in node tuning using glitter or tea leaves, here you go:

http://www.mimf.com/library/plate_tuning.htm (you may need to register to see this link)

or:

Now, if you understan any of this and know how to put it to use, PLEASE report back. :D This went beyond anything I was likely to do.

Wow! that is amazing how much effort has been put into that research. The holographic/lazor thing looks pretty neat. It is interesting to see how the soundboard reacts at certain frequecies. I am not sure exactly what to make of viewing a specific frequency's vibration pattern. Obviously you have to look at a broader picture in terms of respoce (to improve overall performance). I suppose you could hone in on general areas to make modifications and try to improve a given frequency ( or there abouts). The tea leave test is cool in the sense that it would be any easy tool to try to document with. It has the same narrow scope of range though. Interesting food for thought, and I really need to set back and read more. It can really make you feel like you don't have the slightest clue what you are doing when you look at the depth of others studies. That's cool though. I am a hobbiest, and have a great excuse for not knowing everything :D .

Thanks very much for the links :D
