vwall
Hey! Sounds like a good plan. However, the neck selling policy is strict and they will not just sell a neck without turning one in. Sorry bro.

darren wilson
Hey, Scott... will Jackson still take a custom-shop order for an original Collen model? Just curious.
vwall
Hey Darren, I will email my rep right now.. I know there are some restrictioins on certain things but we'll find out soon enuff. What exactly are you lookiong to customize? Are you looking to get a Custom shop Jackson like the ones before the current PC1's were made? Like the sweet 27 fret Collens?

Are you looking to get a Custom shop Jackson like the ones before the current PC1's were made? Like the sweet 27 fret Collens? Not really ready to order anything just yet... just curious as to whether it's possible. Yeah, i've always loved those original Collen archtop models (like in the "Love Bites" video). I'd be interested to know whether they can make a 7-string one with a tune-o-matic bridge and strings through the body, with a 4+3 straight string pull headstock similar to the one on the SLSMG. I've done a quick mockup of it in Photoshop and i think it looks killer! Obviously, it's not done yet... i still have to remove the inlays and change the bridge and pickups to my preferred setup, then make it look like some kind of nice natural wood (maybe Koa?) though silver metalflake would also be cool. Of course, i'd also like to get the Gibson Custom Shop to make me a 7-string version of a Firebird V. Can't hurt to dream, huh?
vwall
man thats a beautiful idea!!! I will ask the relavent questions for you and let you know what they say. These are the feutures that I am 99.9% sure are still availble w/o having to wait for the rep to reply: 7 string 27 frtes Original Phil Collen body design Koa body Tune o matic SLS Headstock So pretty much, most of the things are covered. If you want, fill out the Jackson Custom Shop form and email it to me with your specs and I will get a quote for ya. Scott

ItWasKnight
However, the neck selling policy is strict and they will not just sell a neck without turning one in. Why would they do this? I'm new to this, so it makes no sense to me...
vwall
So people dont pawn guitars off as theirs.. I know it seems silly if you have a Jackson that need a new neck. But its Many guitar companies policy...
