"Melting" wood..

Hi. Look at this picture:

I think it looks great! - But does anyone know how its possible to be that presice? Is it just done by sanding the edges of the woodlayers over and over again, or does anybody know another method?

when you make your router jig, keep both sides of it and just route from that, you'll have perfectly matching pieces.

i've been thinking of making a guitar like that also, i would make sure the templates interlocked/ contacted quite well though, so i would probably make the edges first then cut the body shape out.
