oneirophobia
Hi, my name is Anthoney and I am a guitar project junkie! I'm sure I will post many questions here but I'll start with this...Does anyone have any suggestions on what kind of materials can be used for custom pickguards. It does not have to look super professional, but just some sort of plastic or something I can go to the store and buy. I'm just trying to not have to order it from Stew-mac or somewhere like that. Any help of suggestions would be great! Thanks
krazyderek
some plexi glass from home depot... little sujestion though... the more you spend the easier it is the cut that stuff cause it's higher quality.. then just paint on the back what ever coulour you want or use some winsheild (backwards) stickers

Brian
Cut's pretty easy using a router and template, just need to watch out for kickback on the beveled edge's around the points (that can ruin your day).

Brian
what if it is a thick piece of polymer?or metal also? I wouldn't know about those materials, kinda spooked about working with metals since my shop isn't exactly equipted to do such a thing.
