Slabbefusk Posted August 10, 2006 Report Posted August 10, 2006 I have two 16 ohm speakers that I want to wire in 8 ohm mono and I know that they need to be wired in parallel but the problem is I don't know how to do it with the jack I have. It looks like this from the top ____ 3|-|4 2|-|5 1|-|6 The numbers are the pins you solder the wires to. Quote
mammoth guitars Posted August 10, 2006 Report Posted August 10, 2006 Is that a switch? Don't recall a 1/4 inch jack having 6 poles. Quote
Slabbefusk Posted August 10, 2006 Author Report Posted August 10, 2006 No its not a switch I am a total electronics noob. I think it might be a 3-pin 1/4 inch jack. Its the Silver Jubilee 2556A cabinet. Quote
lovekraft Posted August 11, 2006 Report Posted August 11, 2006 That's a plastic body jack, right? If the bushing that the plug fits into is at the top (in your drawing), wire both speakers' hot lugs to 1 and both speakers' ground lugs to 3. Bam, yer done! Quote
Slabbefusk Posted August 11, 2006 Author Report Posted August 11, 2006 (edited) Yey! Thanks for helping out! I opened the cabinet to check out the wiring and what struck me was that one speaker had the wiring as you just told me and the other one had both lugs to 2. O_o lovekraft, YOU DA MAN!
