Sambo
Never having heard of these things i was quite intreaged to see them on the banzaieffects.com website MEC pickups on banzai. Apparently they feature on some bass guitars, just wondered if anyone had tried the passive guitar versions. they're quite reasonably priced (for people in europe!). Thanks! verhoevenc
Or if anyone knows where to get the active bass one's like on the Warwick thumbs that'd be awesome too... cause direct from warwick they wanna charge me $176 per J-pickup, and $16 for the pre-amp/3-band Chris

Anglagard
I am asking the sames question as you Sambo. I was really curious about thesse pickups since I sw then in the banzaieffects site. Since I'n in Europe, they will cost something around 15 to 30 dollars. I've tlked to one of the guys in banzai and he told me that, although they are not in the same league as duncans qualitywise, they are really good for their price and are designed by the german company MEC that has been equiping the whole range of Warwick basses, from their entry level instruments to the top of the range. If they equip $5000 basses, hell, the pickups must be good! But has anyone tried the guitar versions? If the guitar pickups are similar in quality, we may have a best for the buck situation here.
