hooglebug
can anyone tell me if this is right, and if not tell me what is? i want to make sure i have this right before i take a soldering iron to anything. what i'm doing is inserting a vexter series fuzz factory into a guitar, but i'm not bothered about the led. would this diagram work? the effects out is the red wire on the vexter going from the top right of the 3pdt switch. the effect in is the black wire at the centre of that switch. i think (but im not sure which is why im asking) that the yellow wire is the led wire. and would all the earths (from guitar, from ff, to jack) all go on the same lug? heres a pick of the vexter ff switch so you can see what im talking about http://i67.photobucket.com/albums/h284/hoo...0908_151132.jpg thanks in advance for any help Edited September 8, 2006 by hooglebug
Sambo
Yup. That's fine. if that is the only powered part you're using in the guitar you might want to use a stereo jack to switch off the power (EMG stylee) when there isnt a jack in the guitar. Save yer batteries and all... S

alloyguitar
what does a "fuzz factory" do exactly?
Sambo
well i would have thought the name was self explainatory! FUZZ! (ie its a fuzz distortion pedal thing. its a bit odd. but good fun ) And you can't bugger up guitar electronics! beauty of solder! easy to undo! ebenezer shred
i thought to wire a pedal in you just gotta take the signal goin to the output jack of the guitar and run it through the input and output of the pedal (and get a flipswitch and run the knobs to the top and put the battery somewhere)
hooglebug
but the vexter series pedal has an led which i wont be using on the guitar. so the switch on the pedal is a 3pdt, whereas all i need is a 2pdt. which is why it needs changing. hooglebug
ok, so what about this one with the led. where would the red led wire go to? and would that be the side that would have the resistor?
