I was doing a fretboard removal while following Kevan's tutorial on a beaten old squier neck and suddenly the fretboard split at the 12th fret. So I started at the opposite end and got to the 2nd fret and the damn thing splintered again. Since this is a bass neck, I toyed with the idea of either going fretless or making a real custom piece. Show of hands; who thinks I should still rescue the rosewood fretboard, and who thinks I should just lay waste to it?
