is this configuration ok?

i figured it would allow me to coil tap, switch between every combination of the pick ups, and i'd slot in the second switch where the tone pot would normally reside.

(all dimarzio pickup's)

I don't see the point of having two pickup swtiches. It just seems like too much hassle when a 5-way "mega-switch" type thing could get you the same combinations.

can't have neck and bridge mixed with a 5way :D

edit: intially I was not going to have a mid coil, and leave a hole.

then the idea came of replacing the tone pot with another switch, out of the way, giving me more tone options and still having a mid coil in.

If you simply use a standard 5-way and use a push-pull tone pot to add the neck pickup (to the output), you have the same possibilities, and you don't lose the tone control. Your diagram works, but it's "going 'round the end to get to the middle", and it looks very fiddly to use, especially on stage.

:D I like that switching personally! its differant to say the least!

You could by a 5 way mega switch (a 4 pole 5 way that is) which would allow any of the pickup combinations there (obviosuly only 5 of them could be chosen though) if you were to use a push pull as well I'm sure you could get all of the combinations available from this switching. Just a thought.

yer thanks for the idea's guys, they work, but aren't quite what I want. I primarily use neck/bridge, and prefer three-way switches to a 5way, and personally hate the murk of rolled off tone ... i'd rather have as an extra tonal option, the mid pickup in their.

Basically i wanna play it like a JS :D

(i posted these here, cause i dunno, i was nervous with tinkering with the diagrams)
