rosscore
I realize some of you may think that this question has been answered before, but I simply can not find any guides on the internet for installing both a EMG 81 and 85 (basically the ZW setup) onto a completely unmodified Squire Strat. I believe it will require a lot of special work, modifying a pickguard and body and such, but I think it'll be fun project and I like the Strat anyway. I kinda want to be different than everyone else around here with their Vipers and Les Pauls.
Maiden69
Don't buy the ZW set, get a custom pro series with the 81-85 on with a pickguard. Or you will have to buy a pickguard... and you have to re-rout the body to accept the humbuckers
rosscore
Yeah, I wasn't going to get the ZW thing. I just needed to know the best way to get and 81 and 85 onto my Strat. Thanks.
rosscore
Where do I go about ordering this?
lovekraft
Like Maiden said, just order one of these: http://www.emginc.com/displayproducts.asp?...p;categoryid=12 If your Squire has a "bathtub" routed body, it's literally a bolt-in mod - if not, you'll have to carve/rout out enough room for the humbuckers in the pickup cavities (and find a place for the battery - usually not a problem). No tricky work, no wiring, no drama. Easy enough? Edited November 3, 2006 by lovekraft
