Drak
Are you trying to remove and save it for transplant or just remove it period? Is there an inlay? What are you going to do after you get it removed? Refinish the whole guitar, what? Pic would help.

thegarehanman
Are you planning to try to sell the orville as a gibson at any point?

Mickguard
So you're just trying to fool yourself that you have a real Gibson? I imagine the veneer is just glued on, so a little heat and steam will get it off.
kellymm
No I dont plan on selling its for myself No I have 2 real gibsons a 69 jr and a 70s gold top i came here for some info not have someone flame me
kellymm
I was looking for some specifics. Should I try to make a score line around the underside of the veneer thru the lacquer first with a single edged razor blade? And then go for the heat to loosen the veneer. I dont want to have to respray the back side of the headstock anymore than possible? And no its not going to be sold as a real gibson its just to fool myself Im just a fool
