jay66
I just finished this for my 2 year old son. He loves to turn knobs and flip switches on my guitars. I gave him an old guitar neck one day when he was in my shop and he played with it for weeks, he thought it was the greatest thing. So I got the idea to make a toy guitar for him with a couple of old pots and a switch and my wife gave it a paint job. It turned out pretty cool. Desopolis
that is awesome! I kept coming home from school or from going out to find my guitar missing from my room.. I knew to go looking in my baby brothers room, or somewhere randomly in the house... so to combat this I bought him a mini scale guitar.. Id like to get him into making them, he's 12 now so it would be cool to see if he got into it...
JohnRossitter
My son has been taking an interest in the bass, so I'm thinking about making him one.
jay66
If he shows interest later I'll build him a mini scale one. I might be building 2 because my daughter now 3 yrs is pretty interested also. I don't think the clear coat is non toxic but he's done chewing on things anyhow. You need to make you a full size version now! I got my start in playing in kind of a similar way. My dad bought an old beater acoustic and everytime he would go to practice he would have me come practice with him. I would bang away on it mindlessly, and totally fell in love with the instrument in the process!

redwhiteandthemaple
How do you like that Budda? Nice axe by the way Yea, how do you like the Budda? And I'd ask your son for an autograph in case he became famous or something, because we all know all the great musicians had great inspirations, and I think a great dad can be more than plenty of inspirations. But I'll wait few years, until he can write ABC's.
jay66
I really like my Budda amp. It will do everything from nice shimering cleans to Marshall crunch, no pedals needed. Its only 18 watts but its loud enough to shake the house.
bvalentine
WOW!!! I bet he loves this. Really cool. Better that the one I built for my kid. She's obsessed with the Josie & the Pussycats movie:
benglaus
I like the air guitar. I have an 11 month old boy. Here's my first attempt at building - it's in progress. I have 2 1974 Guild S-100's with the acorn motif - this will be the mini. I can't figure out how to post picture but here's link - sorry if this violates forum policy. http://new.photos.yahoo.com/benglaus2/phot...8804125074605/
