fyb
Do you think it makes more sense to round over the edges before or after you cut your countours (i.e. tummy cut, forearm contour)? Thanks.
Mattia
Before. Surfaces are still flat, makes life a whole lo easier.
Mickguard
What mattia said, if you're using a router. If you're planning on rounding the edges by hand, I don't know if it makes a difference?
biliousfrog
yep, before. The reason being that you'll probably use a rounding-over router bit with a guide bearing...if you've drilled a jack socket hole in the side of the guitar the bearing will fall into it, if you've contoured the body the router will not have a flat base to work on. Round over first, contour, drill & route neck pockets after
Desopolis
+1 for everything said here. especially with a arm rest or tummy cut. the bevel wont be perfect there either, its all hand work.
