Acousticraft
I have the over-wound buckers in my LP style solid body and I like the sound of them. I have got the standard Humbuckers to fit in my new semi-solid and wondered what the forum consensus was on Stew Mac pickups. I know pickups are a contentious issue as every guitarist seems to like a different brand of pups.
Southpa
I have the overwounds in a couple guitars. I had to replace one pickup because of broken windings. I honestly don't have any idea how that happened. The replacement pickup is an old Dimarzio superdistortion. In comparison to that one I would say the Golden Age are about average. I bought the StewMac pickups when they were reasonably priced @ $37.50 a pop. But they have raised their prices in that area.
wwwdotcomdotnet
I have one waiting to go in a guitar I am working on. I hope I made a good purchase.
Setch
I like them. They're not boutique, but they're pretty good value for money. That said, now that the price has gone up I'd be tempted to explore other well reviewed budget lines, like GFS or Kent Armstrong.
Robert_the_damned
I rate Kent Armstrongs very highly but the prices have gone up (well the UK ones have gone up a lot). lucky there's an ebay seller who occationally sells resonable quantites of OEM pickups (at about half the retail price). I have one GFS pickup but its yet to go into a guitar so I can't comment on it at the moment.
Christopher
I'm a big fas of GFS pups. Cheap and just as good if not better than "big name" pup like dimazzio or seymour duncan. I'm pretty sure guitarfetish has some lp style pup on clearence right now.
