Chips In Varnish

Thankyou for spending time to read this.

I just got a new guitar for christmas, it's a takamine g series electro acoustic. Its pretty much perfect for what i need and loving playing it.

However, after a couple of days i've started to notice some chips in the varnish on the back on the neck. It makes it look like it has some dents in it which it doesnt because i've been wrapping it up in cotton wool since i got it! Just doesnt look particularly satisfactory and was wondeirng what you guys think i should do?

Is it worth taking it back and seeing what the shop thinks? Or will the any of them do the same thing...? Any point in tring to varnish it myself?

bring it back. i bought a takamine eg531ssc last year and had an issue with it and the retailer took it back with no fuss and sent me a new one within a week
