meechauud
All of the tutorials and whatnot I've come across only deal with Bolt-On guitars. It must be possible to refinish a set-neck guitar. My question is how? Or, where can I find a tutorial of how to do so? I will try any techniques I come across on scrap wood, / scrap guitars. Anything will help, thanks
Southpa
How? Same way you'd do a bolt on guitar except its all one piece. Its a little more cumbersome to move around you just have to be more careful. But wood is wood regardless. What issues do you believe would make the job any different? meechauud
I'm not exactly sure, it just seemed to me that the process would have to be different. The neck joint is different than any of my other guitars, and I was just wondering if theres any differences (any at all) between the process used for bolt-on necks vs. set necks; just a general question. thanks alot man
Southpa
Unless the neck and body sections are different woods or different finishes then you might have to do some masking and treat each component as a separate entity. Otherwise its all one unit.
