darwinphilosophy Posted February 8, 2007 Report Share Posted February 8, 2007 Ok I have been searching the forums for ideas about sunbursts and obviously I am new to this forum and relatively new to refinishing. I have a few questions if anyone could answer them First off I am redoing a p-bass and am interested in putting a flame maple top on but I dont know how to fit it right is there a way to add like bindings or anything...Also I was going to do a sunburst but am unsure of the best finish for flame maple maybe there is a better idea you know of other than sunburst, I am planning to stain the rest of the guitar a dark color but any design ideas from experienced people would be nice..... Also I have noticed that the actual base may be longer than the veneer which is 20" and the guitar is like 21" so I also have to get around that problem...And if i was to do a sunburst I would most likely do a rub on so where is the best place to find the dyes?... thank you Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

Wish I could get good metal-acid complex dyes here that will dissolve in waterbased and/or nitro and/or alcohol, but so far, no luck...curse shipping restrictions!
