Trying To Get A Satin Finish

ok,i hav sprayed my explorer in satin black(i have done all the rest,priming etc)and it looks pretty dam good from a distance and not to bad close up,i guess u can never truely get a smooth finish as no final sanding is done on satin(or is it?).

im happy with the finish but the trouble i have is it marks so easily,i mean you only have to very slightly touch it with something and it leaves a line or mark.

now should i lacquer it to protect it?

if i lacquer it then im gona have to sand it down smooth which will leave a flat black finish not satin.

is it not possible to get a durable none marking satin finish?
