low end fuzz
ok heres the deal; i got a big brass inlay for my 12th fret section; basically from 11 to 13 and it stretches from side to side; ive used brass for inlays on t.rod covers and headstocks;but they were flat; any fb inlay i do while the board is flat before radiusing; i think if i inlay the brass and put on my radius im gonna lose the edges of my thang; so i guess the only way is to radius the board, conform the brass to the general shape and then dremel out the area; im worried about routing an unflat piece; am i worrying for nothing, or should i put shims on the bottom side of the dremel for what isnt sitting flat? thanx
cSuttle
How thick is your brass?
TechArt
Assuming that your brass inlay is made from fairly thin stock, it sounds like letting the dremel ride on the rounded fingerboard surface might be the way to go. How thick is the brass stock that the inlay is cut from? If you are interested in having the fingerboard CNC cut, let me know; I can do a cavity that follows the radius of the fingerboard without too much trouble.
