darwinphilosophy
I am redoing a p-bass and am kind of making the whole thing look retro and i guess old/distressed looking. I am wondering if I could buy a simple white pickguard and then add something to it to make it a creamy color or distressed in some way? If you know please tell me and if you can show pictures...Thanks
Southpa
Coffee, tea or brown shoe polish. Try each on a sample piece, maybe the back of the pickguard.
Maxim
Coffee, tea or brown shoe polish. Try each on a sample piece, maybe the back of the pickguard. Is it possible to dye a white one completely black?

j. pierce
Coffee, tea or brown shoe polish. Try each on a sample piece, maybe the back of the pickguard. The sample piece thing is key - I've had some pickguards made out of some sort of plastic (I don't know how it was different - but it was) that just were unstainable. At least, not in any fashion that would last more than thirty seconds if you actually played the guitar. Other pickguards, no problem at all. syxxstring
We do it with nylon Rc car parts all the time. Especially rims. Use rit dye in heated watter add part let sit remove. Pretty easy, like the post above not all plastics will work.
