daveq
I am about ready to begin inlaying the MOP into my fretboard. I have some engraving that I did on the MOP and was going to fill it with black CA glue. After thinking about it, I'm not sure if this is going to work or not? I'm concerned that I will have a hard time keeping the areas that are not engraved from being glued also. I guess when I sand it all down, I should be OK but I wanted to see if anyone has done this before. I have read somewhere that people use black paint (rustoleum or something like that), would that be any better than the black CA glue? Brian
You have a ton of options since your going to sand the top anyway. You can even use india ink then fill the top with clear epoxy. Just doing it with paint may chip out or shrink over time but like I said you can do it many different ways such as what you heard and mentioned above. daveq
Thanks Brian - I'll give the black CA glue a try then. I'm really surprised how much fun doing inlay has been so far - I've been afraid to try it for so long. It takes a long time, but is very rewarding. Once I get a little further along, I'll start taking pictures. Thanks again. Dave
