flickoflash Posted July 31, 2007 Author Report Posted July 31, 2007 Tesla’s Coil “F.A.P” Pickup Development Group “F.A.P” {For Applied Patient} After getting Great feedback & meeting lots of small boutique Pickup builders I was struck like Tesla with a bolt of lightning of a idea !!! Why not pull our resources to develop & challenge & explore new territories in Pickups I have been part of a group that has worked to un-tap the effects of aging of a vintage guitar & being able to recreate it Why not get input from everyday folks & the master builder join forces on creating a Replica PAF with some Tesla Balls to the wall Example : 1.PAF bobbins shrink & distort as they age thus the coil loses tension Can the wire be heavily coated with a wax pre winding & then heat treaded to loosen the coil 2. Aging a magnet & recharging it after being wound 3. Aging the bobbins & shrinking pre winding ( you get the idea) Quote

SwedishLuthier Posted August 19, 2007 Report Posted August 19, 2007 What Markeymark, Zangliqum, Dave Stephen (i think) could have told you: http://music-electronics-forum.com/forumdisplay.php?f=11 They are all, toghether with a lot of pro, semi pro and amature pickup winders, part of that forum.
