G.I. Ace
I'm in the process of building a RR, 24 fret, 25,5" but i just figured out that since it's a 24 fret the fingerboard is gonna be longer and there for more fingerboard wood is gonna cover the actual guitar than a 22 fret, so i was wondering if there is anything i can do to help the guitar look as much like the original 22 fret RR? Coz if not the Humbuckers will be so close to each other because of lack of space, and that isn't gonna look good.
Jon
The extra two frets will take up about 4/5" or .800"ish more space than 22 frets. I wouldn't imagine it effecting a great deal.
Magnus
Take a look at a King V. Most are 24 frets. That's the look you'll have, and I don't think there is anyway around it. I don't think they look bad, but you can tell the pickups are closer together.
MescaBug
Pickups will be a little closer to each other. It shouldn't be a problem, we're talking under 1"... Some people also use a single coil for the neck. Here is a 24 frets Rhoads. Compare it to a 22.
