bscur
A guy asked me to finish his neck that has a signature on it done with a sharpie (onto bare wood). Can I spray satin nitro right onto it, or do I need to seal in the sharpie with another product? Thanks
Setch
It will disolve it, but you can seal the sig' with extremly dry (dusty dry) coats, then apply a more flowed out coat once the dry coats have built up a protective layer. Experiment on scrap to see how wet you can go without redissolving the dry coats, and if in doubt go conservatively.
Desopolis
you could also get it printed onto a piece of clear plastic, like the headstock decals...
biliousfrog
or possibly use an inkjet decal sheet (unprinted) over the top of the signature before spraying...or even just some acetate cut to shape...but I'd probably go with the mist coats suggestion.
