~davie Posted May 16, 2007 Report Posted May 16, 2007 Hi, I quite a newbie at this stuff, but I need some help. How am I suppose to get this colour or finish on an ash body? The guy calls the colour 'Vintage Natural Ash', its from a Fender 52' Telecaster Reissue that I saw on eBay. Quote
Daniel Sorbera Posted May 16, 2007 Report Posted May 16, 2007 Looks like slightly tinted laquer. Something like the butterscotch blonde that reranch sells. Quote

CrazyManAndy Posted May 17, 2007 Report Posted May 17, 2007 http://reranch.com/basics.htm That covers pretty much all the basics. CMA Quote
Mattia Posted May 17, 2007 Report Posted May 17, 2007 Paler than most butterscotch blonde, I think. I'd just add a little vintage amber to a lacquer, and shoot tinted coats until you get the colour you want. FYI, I have a swamp ash tele that's got two wiped on washcoats of blonde dewaxed shellac that's almost that colour already. Age will do the trick, too. Quote
