zandro
That's a sweet bass, dude. Love the pickguard! Is it fretless? I can't tell from the pics ..

basey
I suppose I should've listed some of the features on it. (newbie) here goes: neck: 34inch scale bolt on fretless maple neck (yamaha converted with oak veneer) body: poplar core body with purpleheart top and back pickups: generic passive pickups run direct to the jack (oak veneer covers) finish: walnut stain on poplar core, minwax oil polyurethane. pickguard: .063 aluminum diamond plate. I had a lot of fun building it. It actually sounds really good. My next project is going to be a 5 string fretted neck- through. basey
thanks, for all the kind comments. bet you had a heck of a time cutting the purple heart to shape. yeah, the purpleheart started to burn really easy. It also had a lot of oil in it. It looks better than i expected though, really deep, and a good tone too.

Strange Fruit
body: poplar core body with purpleheart top and back Dude, whatever you do, dont let Derek see it, he'll steall it for his purple heart stash... Seriously an, that is one kick ass bass, but one question: does the oak veneer blot the sound of the pickups? Just wonderin. Matt
basey
does the oak veneer blot the sound of the pickups? Nope, I haven't noticed any difference at all except, that I get more highs after I took out the treble and volume pots.
