It's basically a noch filter with a switchable center frequency, easy to make, you can even assemble one from a 600 ohm submini telephone matching transformer, a rotary switch and a handful of resistors and caps. To find out how they sound, sneak into your local music store and play a Gibson Lucille (BB King Signature semi-hollow). It's one passive alternative to active EQ.
