rcorbell Posted October 30, 2003 Report Posted October 30, 2003 Hello ALL, I've just purchased a YAMAHA RGX620z , couple days ago. The guitar wasn't set up and I want to do it myself. This is my second guitar and I've set the first one up pretty sweet ( for my tastes ). No problem in getting to the Truss Rod on #1. But this YAMAHA is a pain.... the Rod is on the bottom , near the pickup and I can get the plastic cover off, but I am unable to find the correct allen wrench to make the adjustment. Is there a special tool made for it?. The only wrench that will reach the hex-hole needs to be an L shape and no longer than 1/2 inch ( on the short end ). Anyone have any experience with this?. The guitar is really nice (and plays well ) but it will irritate me to know that I cannot adjust the Rod. BTW I purchased it from SAM ASH Stores in Orlando Florida. The purchase price ( $239 ) includes 1 free setup by their guitar guru within 30 days. That will be my last choice. Thanks -=ROB Quote
krazyderek Posted October 30, 2003 Report Posted October 30, 2003 the allen keys that come with some guitars are always L shaped, so you'll have to pick one up or a cheap set, if you don't have the correct size, it's usualy 1/8" or 1/4" hex hole... course there are other kinds and tools.. http://www.stewmac.com/cgi-bin/hazel.cgi/h...TION_SEARCH.y=0 Quote
