Mr Metal Posted October 30, 2003 Report Posted October 30, 2003 Hello, My friend drop off an old piece of junk black electric guitar last week as a joke but I immediately stripped it, cleaned it, painted it (where needed) waxed it 3 times, cleaned the surface rust off the chrome bridge and installed new tunning pegs. Needless to say it actually looks pretty good now. Anyways...my question is this. It had a single humbucker at the bridge which I removed and I am installing a new humbucker (a really hot one) a Kent Armstrong "Ultra Distortion". So, can I just drop in the new humbucker and it will work, or do I need to upgrade the tone and volume pods in the guitar as well? Are all Volume and Tone pods created equal? I know size wise it will fit. I'm just trying to avoid any disapointments. Thanks, Greg. Quote
krazyderek Posted October 30, 2003 Report Posted October 30, 2003 guitar *pots, they should work fine with any pickups, just check the value on the bottom, if it says 500k somewhere on the bottom of the volume you'll be fine.. Quote
