theatomicpunk
I have been trying to test a swirl finish. I am using Benjamin Moore Enamel Oil paint. I have read the tutorial and topics, but for some reason when I dip wood in there it comes out all blotched together. I know I used the right amount of borax because when i dropped a little back paint in there it spread out and looked just like the picture in the tutorial. When I dipped the wood i did it fairly slow. Any Idea what I'm doing wrong?. http://img66.imageshack.us/my.php?image=cimg0846bq7.jpg Edited July 9, 2007 by theatomicpunk
jer7440
Did you clear the paint off the top of the water before you pulled your test piece out?

rubber314chicken
looks like the paint was over swirled. maybe try again with less swirling in the paint.
gibsonsg26
even though its a mistake it actually looks pretty cool it stands out from a normal swirl.
