mariolarsen
Hi, does anyone know a way to wire a S-S-H guitar like a red special? Can I make the humbucker like a single-coil by using only 2 of the wires? thanks. Mario
Samba Pa Ti
what humbucker is it, how many wires does it have ? usually you would have to tape two wires together to get the humbucker working 'normally' so this is possible.

It is the bridge humbucker. It has 1 blue wire, with a white wire going to the tone, then 5 way switch, and a bare wire grounding on the tone. The two single coils both have a white wire and a black wire coming off of them.
Samba Pa Ti
just wire it up like a single coil then, and leave the bare wire grounded. im not sure what the hot wire would be (i guess blue) but cant be sure

Thanks. Actualy, the blue is only the cover over the white and bare wire.
Samba Pa Ti
hmm then white is hot and the bare must be ground ? not sure how that works for phase switching (if the baseplate/cover is shielded by the bare and then becomes hot that may cause noise when you touch the cover or change phase)
