P-bass Help

Well this is part to show off my progress and part to ask a question.

Pretty sweet eh? Well I really have no clue have the pickup wiring for the split-coil P-bass works. I tried one configuration (which you see in the pic) and it buzzes hecka loud. I'm just shooting for a volume control so the wiring should be relatively simple.

So how is it done?

Can't tell much from the picture. But P-bass pickups are wired in series like a humbucker (in fact, it is a humbucking configuration). You will get a lot of hum if you wire them out of phase.

Here is a duncan wiring diagram. Just leave out the tone control.
