ibanezplayer Posted July 31, 2007 Report Posted July 31, 2007 Im doing a black and white guitar and I was planning on just using normal paint, not from a spray can, just paint that you would use if you were painting your walls. Is this type of paint okay to use and once ive laquered it will it affect anything? Quote
darwinphilosophy Posted August 1, 2007 Report Posted August 1, 2007 Why do you want to use house paint instead of an automotive paint or a paint that would work better? I doubt you would ever want to use an oil based house paint, because I am sure a lacquer or poly would not make good contact with it. Using a normal house paint and you have to possibility of getting brush strokes, and I don't know how well lacquer or poly would stick to that, you always have to figure out whether or not the paint you use will work with the poly or lacquer you plan to use. ibanezplayer Posted August 1, 2007 Author Report Posted August 1, 2007 Ya I could possibly do the design with automotive paint all i need is black and white, but it was much easier to do the design with house paints so ill need to do some practicing with some spray paints. What name brand of paint goes well with laquer, I have the mohawk nitrocellulose laquer? Quote
