Headstock Angle

Recommended Posts

I think Hotrock had it right with 17 degrees being the old Gibson figure. That is the largest angle I know of. One glitch with high angles is the increased problem with strings hanging up at the nut. If you bend strings very much, it could be aproblem. I would make sure you have a good slippery nut. You could use a graphite nut or add nut lubricant, but be sure that the relief (the section where the slotlowers and spreads on the tuner side) on the nut is ample and smooth.
