I am about to route for my stew mac hot rod truss rod. My question is, should the route for the end of the truss rod that is a block (not the end with the adjustment), should this end of the route by squared off exactly the size of the truss rod. Or should I just leave it rounded from the router bit?

Tight, if possible, but it really doesn't matter much, or at all. The force it applies is in the other direction. Half the point of a hotrod style rod is that, theoretically, in a body end adjustment bolt-on, you could simply pull it out of the completed neck and replace it if needed.
