dawnofzion Posted August 20, 2007 Report Posted August 20, 2007 I am about to route for my stew mac hot rod truss rod. My question is, should the route for the end of the truss rod that is a block (not the end with the adjustment), should this end of the route by squared off exactly the size of the truss rod. Or should I just leave it rounded from the router bit? Quote
DC Ross Posted August 21, 2007 Report Posted August 21, 2007 Here's a follow up Same scenario, should it be tight to the end of the route like so: ]) or should there be a bit of space like so: ] ) thx! Quote
Mattia Posted August 21, 2007 Report Posted August 21, 2007 Tight, if possible, but it really doesn't matter much, or at all. The force it applies is in the other direction. Half the point of a hotrod style rod is that, theoretically, in a body end adjustment bolt-on, you could simply pull it out of the completed neck and replace it if needed. Quote
