cole Posted August 24, 2007 Report Posted August 24, 2007 I was wondering if anybody knows of a supplier that has nitro lacquer that doesn't have the additives that the behlens instrument lacquer has to keep the finish from checking? Quote
Mattia Posted August 24, 2007 Report Posted August 24, 2007 why, if you don't mind me asking? All insturment-grade nitro lacquers have some plastifiers in them. Quote

Not certain, but I believe the regular Behlen's Qualacq is without the anti-checking additives. Quote
marksound Posted August 24, 2007 Report Posted August 24, 2007 If you're using a spray rig, I think McFadden's is what you're looking for. If you want rattlecans, try Reranch. Quote
cole Posted August 24, 2007 Author Report Posted August 24, 2007 I do vintage restoration and some clients like the checking when I do a refinish and as thin as I spray the finish it doesn't always check so easily Quote

cole Posted August 24, 2007 Author Report Posted August 24, 2007 I asked them at lmi about their lacquer and they said it has the same mount of plastifiers as behlens Quote
